Membership Zone
The large focus of GTSBE's Membership Zone is to recruit and retain active members in the society. GTSBE holds a Membership Drive during the 1st week of each semester to give black engineering students and those willing to promote engineering on Georgia Tech's campus a chance to see what we have to offer. Karaoke Nights, Ice Cream Socials, and BBQ Cookouts are just some of the activities that GTSBE has sponsored in the past and that you have to look forward to for this upcoming year. And with an enthusiastic and active Executive Board this year, there is no telling of the other events that will be added to that list!
Beyond the first week of school, the Membership Zone is also responsible for weekly meetings, which includes planning and soliciting companies and executives to speak to the general body! This year, the Membership Zone will also be hosting a series of Skills Workshops and Cultural Workshops. This series will provide our members with technical skills to help them achieve success in the business world as well as exposure to cultural trips that will increase their cultural responsibility.
The Membership Zone also includes GTSBE freshmen leadership component, Lambda Delta Rho (LDR). It is one of the premier leadership teams for freshmen on the Georgia Tech campus. The main focus of LDR is to improve leadership skills among freshmen students and create future GTSBE and campus leaders, while increasing the GTSBE membership.
Our Membership Committee and LDR leaders are dedicated to bringing in new members who will help fulfill GTSBE's mission and go above and beyond our standard of excellence. With consistently over 200 members every year, our goal this upcoming year is to not only increase that number over fifty percent, but to increase the quality of the membership as well, through academic, professional and social development. The membership zone is dedicated to accomplishing our goal, which is Motivation ASAP!
